Owners of Farr 6000s should be aware that there is a risk of significant injury from the lower retaining hooks for the outer hatch slide bungees if these are located on the forward edge of the bridge deck. (see illustration left). Many boats still have them in this unsafe position.

The Association is aware of at least three serious injuries resulting from these hooks, the most recent at the NZ Champs being serious enough to require paramedic and ambulance attention.

We strongly recommend that these hooks be relocated to a safer position below the bridge deck as in the photo below.

Relocation is very simple and should not take more than a few minutes with the correct tools.
